Our last day in Nha Trang was full of adventure and beauty. We woke up and took bus number 4 north towards the Po Nagar Cham Towers for 3,000 Dong or 15¢. On both Chinese and Vietnamese buses there are two employees working the bus. The first is, of course, the driver. The second is More

Las construcciones estan increiblememte conservadas y More

Nha Trang has no doubt stretched and morphed it’s industry and attitude to satisfy the need and desires of the two week tourist. A tourist more interested in diving, drinking, and happy endings than Vietnam, it’s people, or it’s food. My family moved to Cancun, Mexico in the late 80’s. Together we saw Cancun change from a quaint beach town in Mexico with a handful of hotels and bars to a tourism and Spring Break mecca no different than Miami Beach or South Padre Island. Having seen and lived through the More

More

We arrived in Nha Trang at 6:00 AM just 3 blocks away from our hotel. We followed our direcitons “2nd right, 1st left” down the quiet, morning streets of downtown. Too early to check-in, we dropped of our packs at the hotel’s reception and walked around town to scout out some landmarks for later on. We quickly found Nha Trang’s beautiful beach lined with palm trees, palapas, and deck chairs. A boardwalk  runs parallel to the More

We spent the afternoon walking around Hoian taking photos. We boarded the bus to Nha Thrang at 6:00 PM. As expected, the toilet was padlocked shut, but to our surprise the bus was empty so we had plenty of space to stretch. Our first stop was at 9:00 PM. The bus pulled off the highway to refuel giving us an opportunity to stock up on salty carbohydrates. The second stop was near midnight at a traveler’s restaurant right off of highway 1; Vietnam’s main highway running from Hanoi to Saigon. Customers shared red, plastic tables and ate thin egg noodles with shrimp and fried fish. The walls of the restaurant were decorated with large mason jars full of whine whiskey and decomposed reptiles. The largest jars were host to More
